Conversational Hypnosis | Stacking Realities | NLP is Fun

In Neuro Linguistic programming our focus is on creating Transformations always and in all ways NLP Language patterns are a great way to use conversational change that will work in every area of Hypnotic language to create a massive change.
"Stacking Realities" is a process that embeds one story inside another. it can be a little bit confusing as well as relaxing to experience.
Follow along with this simple and yet highly Influential Language pattern.

How to Stack Realities - Conversational Hypnosis

1. Decide on the intended outcome first think of it as a Theme that unconsciously threads your stories together and make sure it meets all well formed conditions.

2. Put together quite a few bite sized story pieces and make sure they all can lead one into another perhaps using the Milton model "Quotes" pattern although you decide what will work best for you.
Example:
I had a client once  a little bit like you as it happens ..... who wanted to .... which had been causing her an enormous amount of worry ... until one day when she met a nice young man at the Bike shop and he said "well you could worry all day and night but will that change it" My father always would say "If you don't like it. fix it" and she realized after a spell all her attention had been going on what she didn't want, and said wow I really  value the process of living in the moment and just being present ....

3. When using quotes take the opportunity to embed a process into the quote
Example:
" Milton Erickson would always utilize what was happening at the time to his own advantage" I heard Richard Bandler say "Think of a Challenge as an opportunity"

4. Test this simple and effective strategy out with a partner and get creative with it.

"Before you learn to give people the right suggestions you must know how to ask the right questions, and the right questions are those that tell you how the problem functions, rather than why the person or his or her therapist believes it occurred"

Richard Bandler

Let me know how you do with it and realize you could learn something new on this Blog every single day for a year with close to 300 Blog posts on NLP is Fun NLP Blog so see you on the next one.

NLP Modeling Exercise | NLP is Fun

Here is a fun way to use NLP to become better at building a skill. In Neuro linguistic programming we call this "Modeling" because we are learning from a role model.

Have a go at making NLP easy and fun, and you can do this is by keeping it simple in the following way.
Credit for this NLP Modeling exercise goes to Richard Bandler co Creator of Neuro lingistic programming 'NLP" .

One of my favourite  things to do is to cook Jamaican food and I modeled my Auntie who used to cook delicious Jamaican food for us that felt great in our hearts and Tummies.
Here is a dish that I cooked recently, and I have become so good at cooking Jamaican food that I also am called to cook many times for my friends and family.

Although I have no plans to own a restaurant, I have successfully catered many private events. Part of the reason is I actually love cooking the food of my heritage.

It is a wonderful anchor that reminds me of great days long gone. As I cook I get to recreate memories for my friends and family and the joy they experience delights me.

Are you ready to become a Modeler ?

Step 1:
Decide what the skill is that you would like to learn or decide on a person you admire and would love to behave like.
Find all media to review and make yourself comfortable and relaxed while reviewing all, and remember the more relaxed you are the more your unconscious mind will easily adopt the behavior.
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
Observe - Relax - Familiarize the What

Step 2:
When you feel as if you are fully present in the components of this persons actions.
Close your eyes and relax Visualize them doing it with all amplified sensory awareness of their behavior and what they do and how they do it.
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
Relax - Visualize - Amplify - Notice the How

Step 3:
After you feel as if you have "Got it" then "step in to them and Act as if" you can see through their eyes fully associated to all of their mastery
Step into - Act as if - Experience
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
Explore in 3D repeat several times noting your discoveries as a strategy for yourself.
Step in to - Explore - Notice

Step 4:
Run again from your own associated position and repeat several times until you can do it without trying too hard.
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
Repeat - Improve - Adjust

Step 5:
Step out of your persons body completely and retain the applied process integrated into your own natural processes
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
and re-run this over and over again, improving every single time.
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
Adopt - Adapt - Run - Improve

Step 7:
Repeat the whole exercise over again and do daily for a month
Notice all Visuals - Auditary - Kinesthetic - Olfactory - Gustatory components.
Perfect - Repeat - 30 days

NLP | How to Improve your calibration skills | NLP is Fun

You can improve your NLP Calibration skills right now, even if you believe you are rubbish at it so far.
I know you have heard a about  NLP Sensory acuity and  NLP Calibration.
Now let us go in a little deeper.

When you experience your NLP Practitioners training you learn the importance of Calibration for building Rapport, and for effectively using NLP full stop.

We improve our calibration not just at NLP Practitioners training but constantly.
The better we are at calibrating in NLP, actually the more flexible we can be and the more we can understand a persons Model of the world and how they are processing.

One of my greatest hero's Bob Marley said among other great things:
"Every action causes a reaction .... "

Honorable Robert Nesta Marley
Now to calibrate also can mean to negotiate ....
Further
Even at a stand still

In fact to Calibrate means to understand the unconscious non Verbal signals.
The out of conscious truth.
All NLP is based on unconscious processing.

You may be able to know what the Transmitter transmits before the Transmitter consciously knows he/she is transmitting such evidence.

This is the beauty of NLP and they may say to you "How did you know this, are you a mind reader ?"
Interesting isn't it.
Also

To be a great communicator can make you a person who thinks differently, staying in the game longer and pays more attention to the other stuff...
This actually is certain as long as you are improving with Neuro linguistic programming.

Like .... The stuff the transmitter is actually communicating unconsciously.

Now,
To observe these transmissions is the beginning.
You have yet to understand what the transmitter can mean by them within this particular context.
However, honestly you now just have a starting point.
Although, you my be piecing it together.

Remember, as an NLP'er we are looking for any thing different, This means:
It feels different
It Looks different
It sounds different
It smells different
It tastes different

The combination of any of these things are clues,
The more you know how to calibrate the easier it will be to solve the puzzle.

You can learn how to understand a persons sequences and this is the goal of calibration.
In NLP this will be their processing strategy.
It is a recipe,
If you observe the person under stress, this is a clue to pay more attention to their behaviour now.

What you hear and see may not match what your unconscious intuition is telling you. This is important to know for a few reasons:

You may miss the turning point of any situation leading you to fail to resolve a thing or worse.
A) with a coaching client
b) Family member
c) Loved one
d) New Job
e) More money or an extended offer

In other words always look for the opportunities.
As with anything, practice makes perfect.

Remember we are looking for any glimmer of a shift in state.

Some traditional NLP areas are

Colour change
Micro expressions
Breathing changes
Posture Change
Sudden movements anywhere
Eye changes
Flaring of nostrils
Tonality shifts
Different eye accessing cues
This is not all please note ALL Subtle state shifts.

Most of all real eyes learning NLP is an ongoing unconscious awareness that will become natural to maybe in the begiing and certainly in the end.
So please refrain from overwhelming yourself and remember to chunk down.
You have got to Relax ...
Learning is easier when you are more relaxed
And also
You can focus on a certain area if you like.

Btw did you know, many people miss loud body language signals and only listen to the words.
They may even argue against unconscious signal being real.
This makes me giggle, every time.
Especially if they are firing off loads of theirs while explaining their delusions.

Remember what Bob said
Every action causes a reaction.
Well begin to notice your own reactions.
Are you easily triggered .... ?
What about if People don't believe in NLP

When I first started I must admit I wanted everyone to learn it.
I still do, although I do not get upset any more if people do not follow through after knowing the value of NLP.

As my grandmother used to say "It will all end in tears you know"
She felt as if practically everything was going to end in tears so no real Biggie ..

BUT!
Notice what you notice and trust yourself.
Have fun with it.

NLP Meta Model Deletion - Distortion - Generalization - NLP Language Pattern

Neuro - Linguistic - programming - NLP Meta Model - NLP Deletions - NLP Distortions - NLP Generalizations. NLP Language Pattern
How to Learn the NLP Meta Model.

When it comes to the NLP Meta Model it is super easy to learn. But some people feel intimidated and don't invest the time into owning it, so that you can become great at Recognizing it.
Think of the Meta Model in terms of Information Gathering.
To Understand the persons Model, you must listen intently to hear how they reveal their Meta Model Violations.

The Three Groups in The Meta Model are:
Deletion, Distortion and Generalization.

Now let's get specific.
To recognize language as well formed these conditions must be met.
1. Well Formed in English
2. Contain zero:

  • Transformational deletions
  • Unexplored Deletions of any kind (All must be challenged)
  • The person is positioned back into the powerful advantage of all the choices available to them,
  •  Beyond their previous expectations which were based on previous perceptions
In other words, because you say it as if it is true, does not necessarily make it true to me. I have the right to ask you a question about it, so that I can learn more about what you are communicating.

The speaker has a chance to revise their previous expectation, now that they know there is somebody who has another point of view.

Other Rules are:
3. Contain no Nominalizations in which a Process is turned into an event and or is made Final, without going challenged as the the available options.
4. Contains no words or Phrases without Referential Indices
5. Contain no verbs incompletely specified
6. Contain no unexplored presuppositions in the portion of the model that implies the person has no choice.
7. Contain no sentences which violate the semantic conditions of well formedness.

These rules have been accumulated from The Structure of Magic Bandler and Grinder 1975

In order to become really good at using the Meta Model you must additionally become really good at how you connect with other people in terms of rapport.
If you respect the person you are speaking to, instead of judging or criticizing, you can get to a place of curious questioning.

The Meta Model works really well like this.
If you are not doing this you will find yourself arguing perhaps and that doesn't feel good for anyone.
Some people are super aggressive in using the Meta Model once they learn it, and become NLP Meta Monsters which are like NLP Mean Kids who are Language bully's.
They thrive of saying crazy things like "Aha I caught you Generalizing ....."

Anyway I know you operate from a place of congruent Win Win and it is you I wrote this information for. We have the power to empower with this knowledge and I really love doing so, hopefully you do too.

Next time I speak about the Meta Model I will split Deletions, Distortions and Generalizations into categories.
I hope you enjoyed this Mini Lesson and I look forward to your feedback.
If you like this Blog, share it with somebody who can benefit from this and all of the Archives.

Internal Rapport creates External Rapport | NLP is Fun

When you feel great about yourself others like to be around you.

When you are uncomfortable at any level, people feel uncomfortable around you even when they do not know why.
Sometimes people who are nervous, send out incongruent signals that make others feel bad.
In other words having Rapport with other people, works really well once you have Rapport within yourself.

What you are thinking, affects what you are transmitting in your communication.
The Pictures you see in your expectations should be of hopeful positive situations instead of things that scare you.

The words you speak inside your head, should support whatever it is you want. If not, you are going against yourself at an unconscious level and it will affect your results. The same thing about the stories you tell about your experience and your life.
You can begin to Visualize and speak with personal power, no matter what has happened.

It doesn't become a habit until you have done it consistently so to begin with, it may feel like allot, and after a couple of months it will change what you can believe about yourself and your life.
That is pretty amazing, isn't it.

Keep going, sometimes the Big Chunk is just showing up, once you are there anything is possible.

Time for something Different

Welcome to 2013 this may be our first time getting together this year, and a great time for us to concentrate on the really important parts of our lives.

The New Year is a metaphor about taking action isn't it, it can speak volumes about:
A fresh start
A clean slate
A process of renewal
An emergence
A rebirth
A Second chance to do things differently this time around.
The new year is indeed an affirmation, for you to take as you choose.

I wonder what will you accomplish this year, perhaps you will move closer to your hopes and dreams daring even more than ever before to put your own happiness at the forefront of all you do.

It may be that this year, you will learn much more about how you can use NLP in your own life. Changing our own internal representations and creating indestructible belief systems for the better. Putting patterns of behavior where you want them, while dumping out more of those useless habits that held you back in days gone by.

Even now we are a month into the new year and what positive changes have you already began to notice.
I believe just knowing about NLP no matter what experience level is one of the best things that can happen to a person.
Because we can always improve by learning more and practicing, can't we.
How many ways for example can you begin to use your own knowledge of NLP right now. Have you ever taken a moment out to just sat in a comfy chair and think about just how much you already know about the resources you already have within you ?

You as a curious NLP'er, have an indispensable selection of solutions that will enrich your life experience forevermore, as long as you continue to use them.
Becoming a whole person, whatever that means to you, is the first step in personal and professional development.
Finding out what really serves you in a meaningful way and daring to take baby steps at first to make giant progress is the mark of a real champion.

Perhaps not a champion in the sense that we are used to, but a champion to your own liking. Mastering yourself, a champion capable of going for and getting the Gold in your own life.
A solid part of you that you can count on through thick and thin, that shows up in any challenging circumstances.

The ability to master your own mind and be more flexible in any situation will twinkle and glisten long after all of our Holiday decorations have been put away and forgotten.

Daily mastery of your own mind will simply come easily to you, when you begin to practice a Self hypnosis plan.
Self Hypnosis used frequently will work on the utmost levels of unconscious thought processes
that may have been going against the grain.

Also, you may be surprised how writing a positive expectation journal and moving into it will give you a focus and direction in your life which shows up in your unconscious beliefs and actions.

You can also incorporate ever so easy exercises like:
All of these exercises are greatly improved when you play with your submodalities and if you are having any challenges in those areas remember to Overlap your rep systems to get you stared

These little habits that you develop when you begin to challenge yourself and raise your own bar repeatedly, really are the difference that make all the difference in the long run.

How many ways for example, can you use NLP to improve your own life ?.
I hope you will consider the importance of your own happiness this year too, and getting yourself to a place where you can say;
Today was a good day, there was some challenges and yet overall today was a good day”.

A great quote I learned from Oprah was "Persistence over resistance".

NLP & Hypnosis Practice in Las Vegas

Here are the pictures from Our Last Event in which the Participants were given a short intro and a 4 page handout.
I then took all the info I explained on the handout and demonstrated with two people from the group how to use these techniques in Hypnosis.

I wanted to show models in Hypnotherapy, Business and most excellent communication: as in conversational Hypnosis or in layman terms Persuasion.
The participants then paired up and found out what their partner would like them to work on influencing in the area of suggestion, and they then crafted a metaphor to slip into the unconscious mind.
Then everyone got stuck in and began to work on their induction skills, they were doing a progressive relaxation focusing on muscle groups with repetition and emphasis on relaxation throughout the body from head to toe.
After all Everyone could do with letting go once in a while.

Even though some of the participants had not done Hypnosis before, they got stuck in and made it happen the result of which was some powerful unconscious programming.
They then reinforced and summarized the suggestions, leaving their partner with revitalized powerful vibrant positive energy.
Then they were asked to create and deliver at least one post hypnotic suggestion, that would continue to powerfully move their process forward, in the days, weeks and months to come.
And then they switched so that everyone had a turn giving and receiving.
Afterwards there was lots to talk about, everyone had experiences to share so we had a Q & A session where they could all ask their questions and share their feelings.
Why don't you join us one of these days?
Our next group will be on March 26th and you can RSVP here

How to Nurture yourself right Now

Many of the people who are interested in NLP are people who have had challenges within their own childhood experience.

This pattern will help you to decide the skills you wanted or needed in order to have the best advantage for our life.

After you have run through this exercise for yourself, a few times you may also like to use it with other people, It is awesome for coaching interventions.

Richard Bandler co creator of NLP says adjust and calibrate to suite the person you are working with or yourself. And do everything until you get the change you want.

Remember every single one of us has our own Map of reality.

Thank you to Shlomo Vaknin and  The Big Book of NLP Techniques for Including this pattern that we are playing with today.

Remember as you experience any NLP technique it is up to you to make it your own and be creative with how you tweak it just for you, or your clients.

Are you Ready to make some changes ?
Let us begin:

Step 1
a) Close your eyes and go Inside your own mind to think about the best types of attributes that  your chosen parents should have to meet your needs and how they will Guide you in the best way possible through life.

b) Consider all your emotional and developmental needs to create a more nurtured you. There may be many elements of parenting that you feel you were missing.
c) Now find / Imagine or create in the forefront of your mind / body a person or persons with the skills that you need to be your parents.

Step 2
Develop your parents to in every way be the best for you, fill in all the details until you are satisfied  and you are beginning to get a sense of what will work very well for you.

Step 3
Internally experience your relationship now and notice how they express their nurturing and unconditional parenting skills that help you become the best person you can possibly be to the hilt of your own personal fulfillment.

Step 4
Access your Timeline and float above the top traveling to the very day of your birth, when they were waiting for you to be born.
Experience them waiting to welcome you into the world as your eager, excited and loving parents, engage all of your senses to fill in the quality of their parenting with all the nurturing skills you desire and draw your attention how it feels, as you experience it.

Step 5
Experience your life as you travel through each stage of childhood and to the now. Notice all of the positive differences that having these wonderfully supportive and loving parents have created in your own life conditioning.

You may also notice a few of your previously underdeveloped attributes have now become so much stronger and vibrant giving you a sense of wholeness.

Step 6
Make peace through love and understanding of where you are now, and release the shell of the person you once felt you were.

Keep your parents in your senses and accessible for any other time you may want to refer to them for Support, Love and Guidance.

Feel their loving comfort always in your life.

Step 7
Re orient yourself completely in the now fully integrating a sense of peace and well being from this wonderfully brand new experience.

Close your eyes again to fully associate to the well being of having wonderfully caring, loving and nurturing parents who are always available to give you guidance.

Feel their overwhelming love and support even as you open your eyes.

Conclusion
Have some fun with this exercise it is very easy to do and the rewards are instant and overwhelming, if you really get into it. do it as often as you like I am sure you will enjoy it.

Cartesian Logic | NLP is Fun

Cartesian Logic is a very simple line of questioning attributable to Rene Descartes who was a French Philosopher in the 15 and 1600's.
It is a great way to examine questions and answers from every angle especially in a coaching setting.
Of course if you use this pattern for yourself you will enjoy it too.

The end result will determine the next steps to take, a result of logic all points toward the same answer.

The 4 Questions:

1.What would happen if you did

Inverse
2. What would happen if you didn't

Converse
3. What won't happen if you did

Non mirror image reverse
4. What won't happen if you didn't

Ready ?
Lets do a Demo :

Question
I am thinking about going for my masters in art history in 2012.

1.What would happen if you did ?

Answer
I would have a masters in Art History which would make me eligible for Teaching at professor level, thus giving me more choices.

2. What would happen if you didn't ?

Answer
I would not be eligible for some of the programmes I long to be involved in and I won't be able to teach Art History at Stanford University as I had hoped to do in 2014.

3. What won't happen if you did ?

Answer
I won't feel stuck with my life as I do now.

4. What won't happen if you didn't ?

Answer
I will not make as much progress as I want to in my career.

Conclusion
So in this Demo it appears logical to make the decision to go for the Masters.

Your Turn.
Why not take one of your own questions and put it through the cartesian logic paces and find your own logic.

NLP Book Club

We are looking forward to our 5th month of NLP Bookclub and each month has been an incredible learning process for all of us.

The Book we are working through is Unlimited power by Anthony Robbins.
I have read and re read this book many many times and think it is a great place to begin putting together a framework to use and apply NLP in everyday life.

As a Trainer of NLP this has given me a great opportunity to show people how to begin to gain unconscious competence in NLP processes in every day life.

As a Coach this has helped me to share ways in which NLP can immediately change perceptions, feelings and actions which ultimately creates life style.

Every one of the participants return over and over again to enjoy the progress they have made since beginning 5 months ago, and look forward to the progress their Bookclub Colleagues are making too.

NLP Book club is a great opportunity to relax, sort your feelings and experiences out and discuss solutions with some great people who are also making progress, let our hair down, discuss current issues.

This week we concluded with the idea that when feeling down, what was really important was finding a song to fill your heart and using it as a bridge to a more resourceful state and then beginning to apply and use the things we already know.
Here is a song that evokes strong anchors in me from my childhood, a time when just by watching this show I began to dream of possibilities outside of my own current experience ... can you find your own song ?

Chaining Anchors | NLP is Fun | Submodalities

There are Times when you may need a little help getting into the most Optimal Peak State. From where you are beginning can be a big leap from no Motivation to Bags of Motivation. Chaining states helps you move in a progressive way from where you are to where you want to be.

Remember to fully Experience submodalilty shifts while looking for the drivers.
for example, what changes to submodalities make dramatic shifts to your moods, like when the picture is dim or ultra bright and so on.

The best way to do this is in around 5 Steps, anchoring your States to their Peak as you go along.
Let us Begin.

We will need a starting Point and an End point in mind.

Your Starting Point will be the usual mood you feel at the beginning of wanting to achieve the ending Outcome. The Mood will also be a mood that if expanded will lead in the opposite Direction of your End Point and Hopeful Outcome.

Consider these Steps as if they are a Bridge toward more resourceful state Step by Step leading to the Ultra End Goal.
